Adult Wing Span: 2 1/2 - 3 3/8 inches


Range: South and Central Atlantic and Gulf Coast States through Central America, some strays to Kansas, Colorado, and Arizona.


Host Plant: Mustard family plants such as cabbage, greens, peppergrass, and also Cleome and Nasturtium


Witness the wonder of metamorphosis! Caterpillars will need a food source when they arrive. Two 4" potted plant will typically feed 3 larvae. You may purchase your host plant from Shady Oak Butterfly Farm or from a local plant nursery. Be certain the plant has not been sprayed with insecticides, including the organic pesticide BT.


** Butterflies can eat a great deal during the larval stage. Please be certain you have the correct amount of host plants if you are ordering larvae.**
